    Hey Pikester,

I’ll be at the store most of the weekend, so probably no fishing for me. Hope you do well, and keep warm!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Nate and I went to see a friend in the Hastings, Mn. hospital and to the Sport Show in St. Paul. Experienced some problems with both vehicles today so not sure what I’m doing Sunday. Where are you fishing this weekend Jake? Look forward to your fishing report. [hint hint]
    Thanks, Bill

Late friday night about 11:30 pm, me and pikester decided to take the big ice shack to fairbault and fish for a day. We arrived at cedar lake at about 2:00 am and it was bbbbrrrr cold, about 18 below. Thank god for furnaces!!! Slept, or should I say tried to sleep a few hours (the ice was cracking so loud it would wake you up out of a sound sleep). Didn’t have much luck. Fished in about 18 feet of water. Caught a few small crappie’s and perch. We are heading down to willow creek tomorrow so stop in and say hi if you get a chance. Troy Pike

Looks like a nice unit! I mean the shack, although the statue is nice too.
Are you planning to leave the shack on Cedar?

    Good Fishing,

No the shack goes where we go so far. Pikester is going to put it on a lake up in the twin cities for a little while. Were planning a trip to red lake later on in febuary with it also. Troy Pike

Fishing in style I see. Yes it is very cold outside. The temps we have been having are like the normal temps we use to have years ago in Jan./Feb. We aren’t use to them as we haven’t had them for awhile. Now with the first ice bite over with the fishing will slow down some so mobility really plays a big part in catching fish. When using a big shelter like Troy has placing it over a good area is important. Switching colors and jigging techniques also comes in a more important role. But just being out there in a warm house with friends is fun too. A get away place where its peaceful [except for gas auger noise, lol] is sometimes a much needed and appreciated place to have. Have fun and enjoy Troy.
    Thanks, Bill

How about Holy Crap! That’s what I always say when I have one come up an ice hole.

    Good Fishing,
