Today Mike/HOF and I did a bait run up and down the Mississippi. Mike’s new wholesale bait business keeps him pretty busy. However, all work and no play, well you know……… So we did some fishing on the Wisconsin side below Alma in the backwaters. Man each of us no more then dropped down and bang, some very nice Bluegills. We were in about 4 foot of water and the fish where piled up from just underneath the ice to about a foot off the bottom. Small jigs tipped with waxies would guarantee a hit on every drop, as they took them only on the drop. Babies was the rule until we fished higher, then the big boys gave us a tug. Mike got at least two gills, maybe three that went OVER 9 inches. The average of the bigger ones went between 8 and 8 3/4. I kept 7 nice ones for a nice fish dinner, but we could have easily kept 25. Ah, nice to know there are some left for next time.

I can see how a little “product testing” is important to Mike’s new bait business. Gotta make sure the minnows swim and the waxies wiggle “just right.”

Thats right. Watch em wiggle!!! The rough life hey James. Think maybe we need a job like that where we can deliver bait and take fishing breaks at every hot spot. Then the next day sneak off work at 1:00 to go fishing again. What a life. Think maybe RHW is a lucky charm?!?
    Thanks, Bill

    Thanks, Bill

Brian, Mike would love that because he would then have another person to stay at the store ALL the time while he goes fishing. Not a good move if you like to fish.
    Thanks, Bill
