Headed to the ‘ol honey hole of the mighty miss. backs of winona on Sat. in search of the mighty northern. We started out with three of us and set up 6 tip-ups and later on were greeted with my oldman and my uncle and we had plenty of water covered with 10 tip-ups with shiners on the end of the line. The action actually started out fast, as we set our sixth and final tip-up our first flag rose, a nice pike. We caught a couple more before the rest of our party came and we threw out the final four rigs. A very nice day for fishin’ not too cold and there were some flurries flyin’ around. As the day came to a close we had 23 flags and 16 caught northerns. Nothing huge but a great day on the ice, all were released.
