Stopped out to Hooked On Fishing in Rochester today to pick up the 42” [3 ft. 6”] ice fishing rod, with a St. Croix blank of course, that they made for me and is it ever sweet. 
The rod will work perfect for fishing outside of my Fish Trap and won’t even have to bend over the ice hole. Great for bad backs, being so stiff from wearing lots of layers of clothes to stay warm so don’t or can’t bend 
, and for just plain comfort when fishing. Best of all outside worlds! They even have others made and on the rod rack for sale. Couldn’t help but noticing an ultra light one on the rack that would be great for panfish so of course it was a just had to be purchased also. 
Also watched the last 10 minutes of the Viking game with Mike Fischer while there and was that ever close. Whew, too close for comfort. Go Vikes!!! And for anyone wanting a regular, not custom made St. Croix rod, they have a bunch in a white bucket out there for only 5.00 each. Super deal. 
And of course some great prices on Okuma ice fishing reels.
