Mike/HOF invited me to join him and attend the annual Sports Specialists Dealer Show in Oconomowoc, Wisc., at the Olmpia Resort and Spa, which is just a few miles west of Milwaukee. We arrived Wednesday late afternoon and stayed over night until the show closed Thursday afternoon. After registering we were treated to a very nice dinner.
This show is not open to the public, rather only retailers buying bulk for their respective shops and businesses from the manufacturers and their reps.
While Mike and I walked through each of the exhibit halls, it was like two little kids in a king size candy store. You name it and every fishing manufacture rep was there, Daiwa, Shimano, Okumo, Eagle, Vexilar, Power Pro, JD Tackles, Custom Jigs, HT, Shappell, Rapala, Cubby, Frabill, Culpert and way too many more to mention.
It was very interesting to watch the sellers and buyers wheel and deal each trying to obtain the best deal in numbers and price. A real education as to how this industry operates.
After all was said and done, Mike, again build up his inventory with several purchases to assure that his shop is stocked with all the supplies and items that his customers expect and demand. We stopped at the Ike-con booth and had a lenghty discussion with their rep about a product they exclusively carry. This is a truly unique and totally different type of panfish and trout bait, yet to be introduced into our area. Mike and I were convinced that it was worth introducing in this market. So when the shipment arrives at HOF, Mike will be explaining and promoting what we both believe might be a revolutionary panfish and trout lure. Neither of us has ever seen anything like it before. Should be very exciting. HOF customers, you have lots to look forward too and can rest assured your favorites are en route to the shop. Thanks again Mike for the invite, it was fantastic.

Yes, it is fun to go see what’s new in the “candy store”.
We do have some new stuff coming that really promises to catch fish. We’ve also got some stuff that has been difficult to find – one item is always being pushed by another forum and no one has been able to get them. Yes, paddletails are on the way, and lots of other great items!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike
