Smallie fishin

I went smallie fishin this last weekend and had a blast. Fished a section of the root river where there was a lot of rock bottom and caught over 50 fish between myself and a friend of mine. The largest was 20 inches and was released to fight another day. The presentation that worked best was an artificial crawdad. I think all this rain might mess up the water for awhile so it might not be good fishin for awhile. Have a good day.

That’s an awesome fish! And yes, it is POURING right now here in NW Rochester. The gutters are full and the thunder is really cracking. We did need a little rain for the lawns but this will most certainly mess up your bass bite for a few days.

I would bet wading down there in the valley at the base of the bluffs during the changing of the colors on the trees would be absolutely beautiful.

Welcome to the site. Talk about a down pour. Its been rainning cats and dogs. It sure will change things a bit. Sure sounds like a great day you had of fishing. You timed it perfect too right before all the rain. Thanks for the report. Be sure and stop out at Hooked On Fishing at the North Store on Hwy #63 and pick up a free In-depthangling sticker. Thanks, Bill
