St Croix Rods aren’t just for walleyes anymore!

I have to give Mike and Mike a plug here. I bought two custom St Croix’s for trophy flathead and channel cat fishing last year. I landed a 44 pound flathead on the flat rod and my wife did the same on the channel cat rod! It’s amazing how far these rods bent!

They are light weight compaired to the standard fiberglass catfishing sticks avalible at verious outlets and very sensitive….Why is that important to a dirty old catfisher that can use a broomstick?

One is that it’s very easy to tell what the bottom is made of. Once your sinker makes it to the bottom…a couple jerks and you can “feel” if it’s mud or rock down there. IMO, while holding the rod I believe I can feel a flathead actually inhale a bullhead…before the chomp…maybe it’s my imagination…but a number of times I could say here come s a bite….then chomp! These make great “boat” rods due to thier shorter lenght.

For bank fishing…well, a person can’t expect one rod to do everything perfectly. I have used both of them for bank fishing, but they are a little too short for this situation. Although the cast fantasticly out of a boat…when it comes to shore fishing…they fall short…so to speak.

To fix this I’ve ordered a custom “bank” pole for catfish from Mike and Mike. I was notified yesterday that it was done…can’t wait to see it/use it.

I’m sure this doesn’t happen everyday, but I was quoted a price….then Mike found an unexpected $20 savings and passed it on to me. Many business people would have just pocketed the extra Jackson!

Thanks Mike and Mike! I can’t wait to use my new custom catfish pole and hear the words…”FISH ON!”

The only reason we don’t have everything listed is a limit on space. For anything you would want, we are happy to provide a price quote with no obligation for you. Feel free to use the contact information from the website or you can PM me.

    Thanks for your interest!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Hah! Mike, Mike and my other brother Mike!

AlvinMike, I hear ya and it’s a good point. I’ve never been to the HOF site.

Since I knew what I wanted…well sort of…I used PM’s to let them know what I wanted. But to your point…I think my first question was…Can you make me a Catten Rod?

The bottom line is, for a CUSTOM rod…there has to be a lot of communication. If there isn’t…problems are going to happen. Because Mike…not Mike, starts off with a blank and builds it to your specs. It would be impossable to list every veriation of a custom spinning rod…much less bait casters, fly rods, ice rods…and cat rods.

AlvinMike, RE High ticket items… my custom cat rod was reasonalbe enough in price that I bought two!

Now after saying all that…I spose if you want a rod like the one on the shelf at Cabela’s, that’s another story.

Thanks for the input. We have listed our top sellers, but maybe that is why they are the top sellers? I’ll see what we can do.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Sounds like more top sellers on their way to the site. And into fishermens hands to feel the St. Croix sensitivity to catch more fish. Gotta LOVE St. Croix Rods.
