We’ve been through 10 weeks of our IDA Rochester forum contest and it’s been fun and we even learned a few things along the way, as well as many of you winning some nice prizes.
Before we continue with a new week, I would like to ask what everyone would like to see happen with the contest. Any idea is welcome. One suggestion is to limit each week to a specific fishing lake or area? Another was to make the prize a trip to Hawaii in the middle of winter (sorry, no can do.) So, let’s have some input – what are your ideas to make the contest better? We are listening!

Well Mike! I thought you would never ask!

My first thought was “pin the tail on Jake”…but I can’t figure out how to play that on the computer…

My second thought was who could have the best picture of Jake with fish taken from their boat contest. We would call it “Take a Schmuck Fishing” contest. The only drawback to this contest that I could see is that you wouldn’t ever have him working in your shop…(yes, i’m leaving that open for others to jump on)

My last…and best idea, would be the best photo of a person wearing a IDA hat. I would have to eliminate myself from this contest..I know. Please don’t attach my home address to this photo….as you know I just get bombarded with women when that happens.

Too bad that Hawiian thing didn’t work out…

Hum , you sure do have some nice rods and reels in the store. Or how about a scoop or two of minnows, a dozen leeches, and a dozen crawlers? If you did this all I would have buy is gas. How do you sign up for your contest anyway Mike?

Thus far all you need to do to enter the contest (for each week) is to post a report or tip, or post a fishing related picture. The entry criteria could also change if anyone has some ideas. This is all up for discussion, so please let’s hear any ideas. We want to have a contest that encourages everyone to share information and have fun.

How about the “oddest” fishing related picture of the week?

    Example:

I was out on Zumbro a couple weeks ago. The guy I was with caught and boated a LM Bass. But the bass wasn’t hooked – it had clampled down on the tail of the plastic worm and wouldn’t let go.

I didn’t get a pic of this – wish I had. But things of this nature could be fun….

Another ”GOOD” reason to always bring a camera as you never know what might happen. Just think what could happen this winter by looking at Jakes pic. You might catch ”him” ice fishing this winter. I think I’m going ice fish ALOT more often this winter. [And I’m using green worms as he loves to eat those]

    Thanks, Bill

ps. Sorry, back to IDEAS now.

Funny you should mention it bill, I always and I mean “always” have my cannon s400 digital camera with me every where I go. I got a lot of grief from my friends at first until they realized I always had my camera with me when they caught that nice fish or for those odd photo moments. Like when I was out fishing with my friend on the mississippi and he told me to pull up the anchor but it seemed realy heavy. When I finaly got it up we discovered that we had hooked a piece of another huge old anchor. kinda neat. Troy Pike

Not that I’m against keeping fish…but…Turn off your live well and turn on your camera!

The pictures last longer than a fillet!

It’s ok UG you can use my name. That bass sure did want that Zoom trick worm. Funniest thing about it was the worm was as long as the fish! LOL

Sorry fella – the fact that you joined IDA had been swept completely from my mind when I made that post. But obviously your fish made an impression on it.
