Mike/HOF and I ran over to Pepin yesterday looking for the hot white bass bite. Nope not here just yet. We hit about a half dozen spots all the way from Bay City clear down to Camp Lacupolis.
Slow was the word. Mike outfished me again.
Hundreds of seagulls lined up and down the bank, but as we watched them, they were not doing any diving.
Looked for schools boiling, but none seen like expected.
Mike says any day now, it should begin, just have to be patient and wait for the turn on.

    ROn

I am impressed – you are showing amazing versatility
this year. First walleyes, and now white bass…

Good going. You keep this up and pretty soon you’ll be happy catching anything that will bite.

PS You and I have to establish a day on the water…..

Hey UG, I know, ain’t it something. After 30 years, I came around full circle only to do what I used to.
When Mike pulled up to Camp Lacuplois, I turned and looked at him and said, man, it has been 25 plus some years since I have fished these waters. I took a long and hard look toward the Camp and it brought back lots and lots of old fond memories. It also reminded me, I am getting older and wondered where the time went these past years.
But yet, was on the water once again with a very good friend and reflected the old times and the new ones introducted to me.
Sitting there bobbing up and down in Mike’s boat, I realized how blessed my life has been with all the fishing experiences I have enjoyed. All hard core fisherman know exactly what I am talking about.
Sure, catching fish is part of the expectation, only a small part. It is sharing good times on the water with good friends and the anticipation beforehand that gets the heart pumping. Excuse me now, why I go out and sort through my tackle box and retie some knots, plus collect some old, recent and new memories.

Yep, the enjoyment of being out fishing is a good mix of catching fish, enjoying the scenery, and enjoying the friends we get to fish with! When I need to make a long road trip down memory lane, it is fun to dig out some my fishing journals from 30 years ago. I had a lot of fun even back when I didn’t know very much.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Sounds like Ron is becoming a ”lean mean multi fishing machine” and finding out that it is alot of fun. Mixing up the ”fishing experiences” makes for great outtings and a never a dull moment adventure as you are on different waters chasing different fish or on same waters using different techniques to catch different fish or maybe even the same species of fish sometimes too. [what a mouth full] It all = FUN as Ron is finding out. Enjoy it Ron. Its only gets better!
    Thanks, Bill
