Below is a comment Mike Smith made on a Lake Zumbro thread at the end of his reply/post and the topic of white bass is too hot of a topic to let it stay buried in a different thread so I’m carrying it over to its own topic.

I’ll probably start fishing the panfish and white bass on the Mississippi soon. Those white bass are a blast and usually start running around right about now into August. I can picture them boiling the water around my boat as they bite amost anything flashy thrown in their direction!!!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

YES, White Bass Are they ever FUN!!! A fish on almost every cast when you get into them. Cast or troll about anything silver, chartruse or white and they will hit. I got Nate hooked on fishing trolling little crappie jigs on Lake Zumbro back when he was 2 years old and we caught tons of white bass there doing that. Theres not as many there now as I think people kept too many. When he got older we would go up to Lake Pepin after work and catch lots of white bass out in front of the creeks where they entered and out in front of Hoskela and by Stockholm and of course over by Deer Island and Pepin Wisconsin and at the foot of the lake. Shad Raps and spinners worked very well casted or trolled and so do jigs with plastics. Anybody else have some great memories and experience they want to share on white bass? Thanks, Bill

Welcome Joe. I know exactly what you mean. Passing our love for fishing, being on the water and the beauty of of it all is special. It brings memories to us and gives memories to them that will never be forgotten.
    Thanks, Bill
