What a difference a few days can make

Mike/HOF and I did Zumbro this afternoon in pursuit of the bluegills. Man, what a difference only a few days can do. The water was high and dirty with some debris, plus a strong northly wind.
We hunted and hunted. Oh we caught some gills, but nothing like the last time we were out. They have left the shallows with only a few stragglers left behind.
Used our old reliables, jigs tipped with waxies and did get some bumps. Going to have to back off and look deeper from now on. From now on, will need a graph to locate those schools and use different tactics for deeper
pannies. You know what? It was still a great day out there with my buddy doing our thing. Oh yeah, the weather man is nuts, he predicted thunder storms and showers all day. He better dust off his crystal ball, cause we only had a few thin clouds the entire time.

Yep, what a difference! The wind did make it rather difficult, but I was getting my casts into the trees perfected. I must have hit the trees more often than I hit the water.
It seems to be the time to look deeper and we will probably find more crappies as well.
