I can’t believe how fast time goes by. Do you realize we will be ice-fishing in six months. No I am not goofy, well maybe a little. Went downstairs today and looked over at my work bench and there sat my dry cell flasher battery that had not been used since March. Took a reading and sure enough it had dropped about a 1/3. Put a charge on it back up to full and it reminded me to read it once in awhile, unless I want to pop for a new battery come December.

Ron
Good point, and thanks for the reminder. I keep a yellow sticky on my Vex box, with the date I last charged it – so as to remind myself to charge it periodicly.
You know – this might be a good use fer them new fangled ‘puters we hear so much about – you know – some sort of nifty program to spit out a reminder…..
Thanks
UG
PS Walleyes – really Ron. Whats this world going to come to?
June 24, 2004 at 10:01 pm #309936Good tip Ron! Why do I have walleyes through the ice on my mind in June?
Good Fishing,

Just a FYI, Ron………When James finally comes to his senses and makes me a moderator (with super powers), That’s the type of talk that will get ya the boot in a hurry
ICE IS FOR GLACIERS, NOT FOR FISHIN!!!!
June 24, 2004 at 10:40 pm #309945I know Jim, who whatever ever thought it, me a walleye fisherman.
Well you can blame it all on Mike/HOF. He has been at me all spring to join him for some walleye fishing and I politely have been putting him off. Well I finally gave in and figured, I don’t have a clue what to use or do, so we will end up with nothing and he will let it go.
No such luck, he showed me what to use, how to use it and where to go.
And did we catch walleyes.
Now what is a guy supposed to do? He showed me I could do it.
Let it be known, my first and true love will always be the panfish. But, there is something to this walleye fishing, thanks to Mike/HOF.
One lesson I was taught, this spring because of the rain was bad for panfish, however, the walleyes loved it. So broaden my horizons for different fishing opportunities. So goes to show, you can teach an old dog some new tricks.June 24, 2004 at 10:45 pm #309947Yeah Jake, this winter when my Vex is sparkling hot, you will be sitting there will with a dim glow thinking to yourselve, I should have listened to him.
You are young and time stand still for you young bucks, but us older guys are always thinking ahead and preparing…….June 25, 2004 at 3:30 am #309967Come on guys, ice fishing can be fun but lets enjoy summer and fall fishin first before freezing Jake at Foster Arends Lake into a Jakecicle and throwing hard snowballs at him. Hummm, now thays an idea. Wanna go ice fishin this winter Jake?
Thanks, BillJune 25, 2004 at 3:35 am #309968Hey Mike [Jakes boss] how about assigning Jake to do some field testing of some new ice fishing jigs next winter on a Sat. where we ALL can be there armed with snowballs.
Gee, I come up with some GREAT ideas.

AaronJune 27, 2004 at 2:27 pm #310170Hey Jake, Be nice…I know where you live during school time…Maybe I’ll have to hook up with you and show you why we love the ice fishing so much !!
June 27, 2004 at 3:31 pm #310175Seriously Jake, Ecnook is the man to go hit the backwaters ice fishing down where he lives. He lives for ice fishing. In fact him and Mike Smith would have a hay day on the ice as they both love ice fishing so much. Maybe Jake could be the spud bar. [gee, did I really say that?] Great to see you over here with us getting in on the fun Bud. Just because you are down river from us doesn’t mean you can’t be up river with us in just a click on the o’l puter. Thanks, Bill
June 27, 2004 at 5:43 pm #310185I will be up on Pool 4 this year ice fishing some or the back waters…I know there are some MONGO pannies to be had up there !!
June 27, 2004 at 5:59 pm #310187Sorry Jake, all moderators need to be able to answer the following…
“How big WAS that walleye?”
Says so right in the application. Guess that cuts you out. But other than that, I think you’d do a great job…. lol
