I started to think, if I were going to participate in the pursuit of walleyes, geez, probably should get a nice combo so if nothing else, I at least look the part.
Of course, only one place to go to do my shopping and that would be HOF. Both Mikes out there put their heads together to come up with some specifics. Told them I would kind of like an all around type outfit, something to troll with, cast cranks and jig fishing. Wasn’t sure that could be accomplished because there are different types of equipment for different types of presentations.
Mr. Fischer turned out another piece of art for me.
6 1/2 St. Croix blank, medium weight, beautiful wooden handle and a very attractive Thunderbird wrap.
Then to top it off, a Metaloid 20, spooled with 10 pound test power line with a 2 pound diameter. Perfect balance and as Steve the Crocodile Hunter would say, “Ah, ain’t she a beauty”. Simple snap of the wrist and cranks go out a country mile. Very sensitive and could feel every little blade of grass on the retrieve. Now if I could just get a walleye to give it the true test.
Thanks again Mike Fischer for another superb production.

    Hey Ron,

Yes, that new custom rod and Okuma Metaloid make a beautifully well balanced combo. Top quality without paying an arm and leg!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Sounds like Ron is going to be ”dangerous” now. Look out walleyes!
Sounds like a really nice combo there Ron. You will have to show me your walleye slayer.
    Thanks, Bill
