Ahh Chester Woods… not many places you can go and know you’re gonna set the hook at least 30 times! Spent about 4 hours out there today and was not disappointed. Most of the fish (at least 50 total) were in the 10-13 inch range with 2 4+ kickers. Most fish came on a green pumpkin flippin’ tube off the steeper banks, with many found well away from the banks in about 10-14 feet of water (i.e. make sure you fish the bait all the way back to the boat). There were also plenty of takers for a 1/8 oz buzz bait dragged over the weed flats. All in all it was a great day, plus I managed to time it right so I was off the water just before it rained! I’m really going to miss this lake when I move- it is a great place to take the kids and also to experiment with new techniques and hone your skills!

Hi Guys, how is the ramp at Chester and are there restriction in terms of boats/motors? I looked at the web site but did not see any mention of the ramp.

    Thanks for the reports!

Chester Woods has a nice cement ramp. You can only use electric motors – cannot run your gas motor there.

    Good Fishing,

yes, the bass fishing out there is prime right now. i did not try any artificial bait, but they were pounding the good ol’ fashion nightcrawler under a bobber over weedbeds.igot about 10 bass in 2 hours on thursday night nothing over 13″ though. i’ll have to try some artificial bait next time i head out there sounds like that works better than crawlers. thanks for the heads-up on what there takin.
