I’ve been getting a lot of inquiries about “are the lakes still fishable with the high water?” The answer is YES!
Lake Zumbro has a “no wake” rule in effect, but is still fishable in the bays.
The Mississippi River and Lake Pepin are still putting out nice numbers of fish. The high water may tend to scatter the fish away from some of the traditional spots, but a little searching will probably produce a nice catch. The walleyes tend to go near flooded wood and the saugers will still be relating to edges along dropoffs as well as points.
Chester Woods is good to go and producing nice sunfish, crappies, and bass.
Foster Arends is producing a lot of trout lately.
The rest of the flood control lakes are producing panfish and bass.
Hope you have a chance to get out and enjoy the fishing!
Good Fishing,
Mike
