I have heard several people say the trout fishing has been very good at Foster Arends Lake the past couple of days. Has anyone been there and have any reports?

Mike, I did Foster for about 2 1/2 hours this morning. Several fishermen lined the shore all the way around. Water is up considerably, I would say close to a foot from last time I was there. Water is crystal clear and hundreds of small rock bass right on the edge and are they hungry. I kid you not, I put the tip of my finger in the water and they would attack it.
Only saw a couple guys take any trout and not many plus they were small. They were using spinners.
I tried jigs tipped with waxies at several different depths and distances from shore. Not one bite the whole morning. Not like the last time we were there.
Wonder how often Foster gets stocked?

    Hey Ron,

Sorry to hear about the poor catching. It seems to be that the warmer the weather, the deeper most people fish. The bait of choice lately has been fathead minnows. Usually the power bait becomes better as the weather gets warmer. I had been hearing some pretty good reports lately, but maybe the fishing pressure gets to be too much on some days?
I wish I had a better idea of when they stock and how often they stock, but it seems to be a secret.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike
