Hey all, its been awhile since ive been online,,,computers!!
Got out last night for a few hours and had decent luck.
Started out shallow pitchin tubes with some succes, got 2
in the 1 1/2 lb range.
Really weedy out there this year, lots of cover for em
to hide in. Talked to a guy that lived there for forty years and has never seen that many weeds.
Moved to a different bay an tossed a worm up real shallow, got bit twice right before dark, with one just shy of 4 lbs——SWEET!!!
Water temps been hangin around 63 for awhile.
    They’re out there,just takes a little work,and finesse..
All for now, see ya on the water !!

Alright……I’ll give ya a report too (since Bill won’t leave me alone )

fished monday morning/mid-day and did decent with the bassers. mostly smallies in the 15-17″ range. lost the two biggest half way to the boat, one that was EASILY 19-20″. I’m having problems keepin the jumpers hooked on my spinnerbaits . had limited area’s to fish concidering the wind, pleasure crusiers, and dang crappie fisherman .

This morning’s outting is one that will keep me from sleeping well tonight. not a lot of fish, but missed an opportunity to tango with a beast. Would have been BY FAR the largest bass I’ve ever caught (I’ve got several 4#er’s and they are no comparison to this fish). that thing came bustin out of the water after my spinnerbait that was hooked on a dock ……I swear it had the mouth the size of a paint can

Thanks for the reports guys. Guess we all know what Jake will be dreaming of tonight.
Brad, the zebra mussels have done a real nice job of clearing up the water. As soon as the high dirty water from all the rain we have had washes through you will notice it and thats what is helping the weed growth which is more habitat for the bass. Keep the reports comin!
    Thanks, Bill

    Brad,
Now I am confused. Is it a walleye boat or bass boat ? Sorry man I couldn’t resist.
From what I am hearing the fish are hanging shallow.
    Good luck.

Bass Boat/Walleye Boat – It’s still too big to float below the Silver Lake Dam.

Never know, maybe those 175 horses might be able to lift that boat far enough out of the water to float on the water below the dam. I suppose I probably shouldn’t give him any ideas though.
    Thanks, Bill

Whats the crappie situation looking like on Zumbro? Are they still shallow or are they moved deeper already? I haven’t been down there in a couple of weeks so I am hoping to catch the tail end of the good crappie bite. Thanks and oh Jake better luck next time

Actually Bill…..right now I have no doubt that one could motor a low ridin boat from zumbro falls to Mac’s……..if you know what you’re doin of course…….Heck, maybe we should have the walleye searchers tourny head out from the green bridge next weekend……I’m sure we’d have better weights than we would if we fished silver lake like you suggested

ps. tomorrow mornin, the beast is mine

Tony, there are still some crappies in shallow but not as many. Some have already spawned but not all. They are more spread out now but search and you will find them. Troll with trolling motor ”real slow” and cast the bobber and plastic or minnow towards shore until you locate them. Good luck and let us know how you do.
    Jake, get that big one.
    Thanks, Bill
