    Fished with shore fishing geru Mike Smith from Hooked On Fishing this evening and of course he outfished me again. He caught several fish and I tried a different way of fishing than he was doing and got skunked. Saw a guy catch a nice largemouth bass on topwaters down from us. Next time I’ll try Mikes way-time to bring out the plastics. Well, maybe try something slightly different than Mike and see if I can catch more than him. One of these days Mike. Ya, I know, in my dreams you will say.

    Hey Bill,

    It was fun to be out there fishing with you! I didn’t exactly set the world on fire with my catching, but did get a few. You just never know what to use until you try something that is working. Lately the fathead minnows have been working best, but that can change on any day.

    Oh sure Mike, you say fathead minnows so I’ll fish with them and you will use something different and kick my bu%# again. lol. Couldn’t resist Bud. When do you want to go? How about trying the other side of the swimming beach? Thanks, Bill

    Hey Bill,

    Looks like next week before I can go again, unless I have some energy left after working Saturday??? The bait preference really changes at Fosters without any good reason sometimes. As an example, last week a guy came in to get some fathead minnows and said that he couldn’t get anything on the spinners that worked very well the previous day. Just got to keep trying different stuff!

    I know, thats why they call it ”fishing” and not catching. Does that mean I have to haul the boat down there just to hold all the tackle and bait?

    Between the lawn chair and the new fishing vest with tons of pockets I bought [to hold all those lures from HOF] I am not only ready for you but also ready for a nice relaxed night of fishin and shooting the bull. Which night next week is the first night we going?

    Ah, yes, sneak away while your wife is at the ball game. Sounds good. Does she take in any more ball games besides the Tuesday night one? [hint hint]=more fishing nights.

    Caught two trout today. Using pink jig head with Gulp natural colored grub hanging about 4 feet below a bobber.
    Son was using blue jig head with white power grub and also tried green power minnow with no luck.
