I’m a newby boat owner – is there a dock at the Ponderosa launch on Lake Zumbro? What’s the best way to get onto the water?

Need to get practice with my new (used) toy!

The one at Ponderosa is public and FREE,the one at Fishermans Inn is private and costs to launch from there. Either will get you were you want to go all depending on where you live as to which is closer

Cograts on the new to you boat

On behalf of all of us MN boaters thank you for going out to practice first. I’d also recommend an empty parking lot to practice backing up.

    Congrats on the new boat.

    Hi,

When backing up your boat drive slow and turn your steering wheel slightly towards the direction the boat trailer is going to far to correct. Exparament with what depth is the easiest to load and unload your boat. Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m a newby to boat ownership, but grew up on a farm, so have been backing up with 2 wheel trailers since I was 10 (more than 40 yrs ago!). Looking forward to fishing the Rochester area (and the Mississippi).

    Good fishing to all!

Managed to back into the bay at Fleet Farm this morning for new tires on the trailer. Slow and gradual turns worked well.

Hope to see some of you on the lake or at a launch.
