I gather the Lake Zumbro draw down will last the winter, what kind of an affect will this play on our icefishing. Better or worse?
One would think with less water the fish would tighten up,does that make too much sense to be true?

Makes sense to me. How deep does the reservoir get?

Winter pool is only 18 to 24 inches below the summer pool. They are working on the dam and will be putting water back in the lake yet this fall. Depending on when the re-fill gets underway, the ice may or may not be affected.

i went fishing on zumbro this last saturday in the weather we had. got out there early and there was sheets of thin ice floating around from fishermans in to rattle. read alot of fish but very few coming to the boat. the weather was the real deal sitting the boat. rain, sleet snow but it was just a great day to be out in the crisp air. icefishing in a month or so i hope. the water is already near winter pool levels. should be a normal year for ice no affect.
