Hey all. I recall last summer a neighbor mentioned that every Tuesday evening(?) a small friendly group of people would fish Zumbro for some bragging rights. Is that happening this year as my son and I are interested if the group is open to new comers.

    Thanks

Its a pretty liberal group of guys and anyone is welcome.

I don’t fish it, or bass out there for that matter, but I do enjoy reading of the poking after each little night out.

I’m sure it is on as always in the past. I assume we’ll start this tues at 5pm takeoff. No one really runs it, past week winner always holds money. Time will be bumped up to 4:45 than 4:30 later in the year as we lose daylight but as I said for now I’d figure taking off at 5pm.

its still a stupid lake – but a good bunch of guys – Be curious how if at all the flood changes things – maybe it will make it better – maybe there will actually be a pattern i can figure out??? or maybe i will save my donations to an eron, tdomaille, bgravenhof and buy a lucky craft and throw it on 2lb mono for northerns – that would be less frustrating. Have fun fellas – someone take a picture of pretzer unloading his boat and losing it at 4:59 as all the boats are taking off and him screaming “It AINT 5 YETT – and STAY OFF MY SPAUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHT”

We have averaged 11 boats the last 3 weeks. Its been taking 10-11 pounds to win. A nice big one is weighed each week.
Ike- You’re a quitter. If you’d stuck with it you’d have it figured out better by now.

From what I have found this spring as well as during the late fall fishing is that there might be some new structure added to the lake but nothing else has changed much.

Each year right at ice out and then during the period when the crappies begin to stage for spawning I see some samazing bass come to the boat. This year was the year for smallies, but when the water warmed a little some unreal largemouths came out to play too.

Yes i am a quitter – i think it takes a bigger man to say no – and thats my motto when it comes to the zumbro i am a no go – at least this year anyway.
