Rochester Mn Fishing Buddy

As I’ve stated in a previous post I am a novice when it comes to fishing and an even greater novice when it comes to ice fishing. As the subject describes, I was curious if there was anybody in Rochester Mn interested in a fishing buddy. With a full time job and two kids, my availability is very limited. I wasn’t able to locate a Rochester group on this site.

I’m not looking for competition nor charged fishing lessons. This is an awkward post for me to write so please use professionalism here. I’m 36 with two kids and married. Served 4 years Army so if there are any fishing vets out there even better but I do not discriminate against civilians

I assume the ultimate panfish league Rochester (UPLR) is still going. Tyler could be a contact to find people in the only “dry” county in MN.

Get ahold of the folks at Walleye Searchers.

    http://www.walleyesearchers.org/wp/

Join or go to one of the monthly meetings and ask a lot of questions. Might be the right kind of match for you. Great group of guys there!

Or try sending a pm to Steve Plantz here on IDO. @steveplantz

We live in the same same part of the state and both army vets? Did we just become best friends?

(I really hope you and others have seen Step-Brothers, or else I just created one of the more awkward posts in IDO history).

I’ll send ya a PM. I’ve got a lot more learning to do on ice fishing so hopefully we can find a few more folks in the area. If you haven’t already try the regional forums for Rochester and Southern MN.

I was impressed you were able to quote something from that movie that didn’t include vulgar language

Picked up an Eskimo hand auger “7 for $45 and a rod case for $20. Was thinking about silver creek tomorrow with the kiddo. It’ll be all natural as we don’t have a sonar yet. Supposed to be nice out. Not sure if fish like clear skies but we’ll find out

Also, met Tom S. last week. Nice guy. Gave some nice pointers as well as a starter jig kit. Appreciate all the help Tom. I’ll give the jigs a try tomorrow

Hey Bud. I live right in Rochester. I am also going out tomorrow. I have been slaying the gills. Hit me up on facebook or pm me your number. Trevor Slifka
