Robo Calls

I get about 15 to 20 robo calls and spam calls a day. It drives me nuts. Last night on the news they talked about an app that blocks them for you – robokiller. I couldn’t down load it fast enough.
Not one call so far today. If it keeps working this well it’s the best $2.99 a month I ever spent.
You can also have it set so when robokiller answers the phone they screw around with the caller, you can have it so all the people hear is coughing, an old lady saying “speak up i’m hard of hearing” and the list goes on.

I think that’s a great idea…the killer part anyway. The Do Not Call list doesn’t do anything.

I would think that after a few months of that, my number would start disappearing from the call lists. I can only hope.

Anytime I get a robo call, I send them a donation along with EPG’s phone number. Guess I’m going to have to start giving them Brian’s number.

Answer the phone and remain completely silent. You can hear the line click a few times then they hang up. Works for me. They must think it’s a disconnected number.

I usually got one or two calls a day and then out of no where I started getting 15-20 a day as well. This happened for two days and now nothing. I had no idea what I was going to do. I’m way to cheap to pay $2.99 a month… glad they went away.

I get maybe one per month.

I also never give out my phone number and always lie about my zip code when checking out at any store in-person. If your relatively inexpensive online checkouts require an active number that you cannot make up, use your least favorite co-worker’s.

I laugh every time I go through a checkout at Gander, FF, Scheels, Cabelas, etc and they ask for my number. They usually get the idea when I continue a fake laugh long enough for them to start scanning my items.

for the last three days I have been getting a call from a number that shows to be from Texas.
the gal sounds like she is not only bored to tears but is being held at gunpoint as well, you can almost hear her thinking, pull the trigger dang it I am tired of this.

anyhow, she professes to be with the department of the treasury and that I am in trouble and owe huge amounts of money but that it can be settled for only five hundred bucks, wtf???
and yes,I know better, its a scam,so,I told her to call my office for an immediate payout to resolve this as I am on the road.
I gave her the county sheriffs office number, boy was she mad !!!!
I havent had another call from them either.

the part that bugs me is phone numbers with my area code and prefix number,I let it go to voicemail and call the number back explaining I had a missed call.
the person on the other end laughs and says they got the same call from my number.
one would think for what we pay for cell phone or any phone service for that matter would catch this and delete it before it went through.

once in a while I get in a mood and let them ramble while I am pretending to be snoring,or belch loudly into the speaker or,I let the toothless one with hairy lips speak to them, have to spray the phone with air freshener after that trick, the tough part is explaining what you were doing when someone at work sees you holding the phone close to your backside for a moment.

The problem is the phone companies make money off all of this so what’s their motivation to stop it???

I have two solutions I’d like to see implemented.

    1) A $10,000 fine for each employee of an illegal calling operation PER CALL.

    2) Seal Team 6 probably needs to do some training between missions. Have them give them the “bin laden treatment.” This crap would end REAL fast.

I get enough junk calls that I no longer answer the phone if its a number I dont know. If its important, they will leave a message

They change the numbers all of the time and even when they don’t and you do block the number they can still leave voicemails. I had 19 robo messages in one day. Filled my in box. Worst part was going through them all of them to get the two messages I actually needed. PIA!

I used to get several robocalls per day. I learned that 90% of them are coming from India. So now I always take the call and politely tell them that I’m busy taking my cows to market to turn them into hamburger.

Down to one or two calls a day now.

Political calls are exempt from the Do Not Call program. Ugh.

I haven’t had a single one. Wonder how I got so lucky. I have straight talk but that shouldn’t matter I assume?
