Last week we decided to do a road trip to hopefully catch some jumbo perch. We headed to Lake Simcoe north of Toronto. We started out in 23′ of water but soon realized the nice fish were not there. Then moved out to 30′ and it was game on. We had a carpet of fish under us the whole time. Best presentation was a Northland Forage Spoon with a red Jensen egg and spikes with the bigger fish coming from laying the bait on the bottom then they would suck it right of the bottom. Had 2 a little over 14″ and a lot of 11-13″ fish. I think we’re going back woot

When’s the fish fry? Looks like a lot of fun.

The limits up there are very generous 50 each per day with a 2 day possession limit. We were worried fishing in 30′ about how they would release so we quit our 2nd day at 11:30 at 52 then headed home. I sure don’t need 100 perch I’ll just go back ! It’s a great perch fishery !
