Thinking of going tubing this Saturday and I am thinking of the Apple River or Cannon River. Any suggestions?

May want to call ahead, with the rain we’ve had the past week river conditions may be not so favorable.

Agreed. It would be pretty scary if not deadly getting caught up in some trees.

Agree with the other two posts, high water + tubing = danger.

But besides that, it depends how rowdy you want to get. Bringing your wife and kids? Avoid the apple river. Got a group of guy friends and want a good chance at seeing and drinking some cans? Apple river has you covered.

When I was in Boy Scouts, we always had a father-son weekend at the Apple river. The Mother’s always wondered why we always chose to go there until one decided she needed to join us…the troop hasn’t been back since…

    Cannon is up.

Was going to take my daughter down last week via kayak but it got too high for her in experience.

The Apple is normal flowing very few groups going down this early part of the season. The area has been missed by most the heay rains this year except or the last round which really has not effected the flow much.

A bit further drive but the Namekagon River out of Trego is an awesome river to tube or canoe down. I just called Jacks and they have been renting tubes for the past couple days and said it should be ok this weekend.

The St Croix below the dam at St Croix Falls is prime right now for tubing or white water rafting.
