Just when the fishing was getting good mother nature throws us a curve ball. Looks like pool 2 is going to come up over 2′ by this weekend and maybe even more. I guess on the good side it shouldn’t freeze up to fast with the current flow. Hoping like the last few years we can still get out through the end of December or even later. Sure have been some nice fish biting this last week.

It’s going to warm up and be nice for weeks now.
I put the boat away last Friday.
I blew my upper back apart into a thousand pieces and should find out today what the MRI shows. Either way, I had to take care of the boat before I couldn’t take care of the boat Getting old sucks.
Nice fish Mike!

I agree, nice to do some P2 December fishing but we will have to see what river levels are.
November 29, 2016 at 6:52 am #1653328Great fish gentlemen! Hoping for a couple more opportunities to get out. I haven’t brought the batteries inside just yet…

A couple days ago Jon sent me a video he shot of us getting the boat out January 6th this year. Reminds me it just doesnt seem to be a good end of the season until we are breaking some ice and cleaning snow out of the boat.

November 30, 2016 at 1:37 pm #1653759Nice fish guys. Who’s that guy in the funny orange hat?
FB brought up a memory from 5 years ago when the dude in the hat showed me the ropes on P2. The fishing was so good we stayed out well into the night despite my starting battery failing and not having any running lights. Oops…..

Matt QuickPosts: 17December 1, 2016 at 3:04 pm #1654059So any change in water so far? does it look like we will still have the 2′ rise?
nhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348JonesyPosts: 1148December 1, 2016 at 10:18 pm #1654113Water was up even more this afternoon. For you guy launching at 494 remember the cement dock ramp. Im guessing it will be going under water in the next day or so. Still found a few walleyes and white bass this afternoon. Bite died as soon as it got towards dark.
December 2, 2016 at 8:29 am #1654141My guess is the rollers come out of the water in the next 24-48 hours is my guess…..flow is at 33,200 right now so my guess is by tonight

Funny… I fished early Wednesday morning, and for me at least, the bite died as soon as it got light. Maybe it would have picked up again later in the day but I didn’t fish long enough to find out.

December 5, 2016 at 7:13 am #1654614I was able to get out on Saturday afternoon into the evening. We were able to tie into a few white bass and walleyes on stick baits and moxies on some main channel spots and a handful of shot walleyes on blades in some backchannel areas.
The water sure came up quick but it was a great afternoon on the river. We ended up being the only trailer in the parking lot when we headed home shortly after dark.
