So me and some friends have trip planned for Lake Pepin next Thursday through Saturday to do some smallmouth fishing or largemouth. None of us have fished it in 15 years. With the recent rains I see the river is suppose to come to 12’+. What is normal pool? Is it going to be a complete mess or will fishing still be ok?
Just means more spots for them to hide
Sunday morning while I was out the water came up a good 8″-12″. The dock when I got to the ramp was good to go and when I left I got wet feet :-(. Water was dirty with some stuff floating out there but it wouldn’t stop me from fishing. I managed to find a couple crappies as well as a couple smallies. With the dirty water I had good luck with brighter colors. I would assume with the rain this week next weekend it will still be on the rise. That’s the fun of the river though!
