headed up to baudette the weekend of the 12-15 of September.

wondering if we should be fishing the main lake or if being in the river would be the best bet.

trying to put together a walleye bite and try for sturgeon if there’s a chance we will get any. any help would be appreciated!

I would plan on fishing the main lake near pine island from the washout up to the gap if the weather allows. If you cant get out there due to weather/wind then fish the river. I have heard the cooler temps are getting this going sooner this year. Others may have more current info than I do.

Not that it matters, but the MTT Championship will be going on while you are up there. Lots of good walleye fisherman will be fishing, some fish the river and some fish the lake. Mainly a trolling bite yet, leadcore, downriggers, or long lining all work. Weather is the biggest concern this time of year.
Good Luck, fall fishing on LOTW and Rainy River can be a blast.
