A bit before my time but a Purple Legend for sure! Love watching those old clips. Sad day for the Vikes.

My memories about Joe is he was a quarterback who actively sought out linebackers to run over. He was a tough dude.

The biggest thing that I remember from watching Joe Kapp play for the Vikes is that he’d rather run over defensive players than try to get around them. Like AK Guy says, “he was a tough dude”. He relished contact.
Although he may not have been the most talented QB the Vikes have ever had, he led them to Super Bowl IV in 1969 with a 12-1 record and Fran Tarkenton is the only other QB to get the Vikes to the Super Bowl. That’s pretty good company.
I’ll always remember his part in the original “Longest Yard” movie too.
    I liked the guy.

I’ll always remember him knocking out Fred “The Hammer” Williamson when he tried to tackle Joe.
