Brian I recognize the name, he was a member here I believe on the old site?
Way to young. RIP.
Brian,
Jeff was the president of the Apple Valley In-Fisherman group and was one of the hard core fishermen. I knew Jeff although not as well as many, from Ido and his many many many visits to Everts Resort.
Great guy and will be sorely missed by many.
When I saw the post by his family on FB, it was like getting hit with a 2×4 in the head. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
Thoughts and prayers to his family.
How did he pass? Did he have a health condition?
Wow. That’s a kick in the pants. I met Jeff a couple years ago through IDO because he worked with someone from my hometown. We met face to face at the SBC open house and kept in contact ever since. We both have Skeeter MX that we compared rigging notes on. A super nice guy that passed way to young. My prayers for the family sent.
RIP Jeff & many thanks for being the ambassador to our loved sport of fishing !
He was past resident and then vice president, I had the pleasure of both knowing him and belonging to the club and fishing with him, even if it was a all to short time.
It would be hard to find a nicer guy.
Condolences to the family, and godspeed Jeff.
Al
Thanks Brian for making this post.
I would have not been able to do it this week. Very so hard to handle. I’ve been working with his wife Jane and their 4 children this week to help out wherever I could.
The visitation services were Friday evening, and church service was yesterday.
Jane asked me to speak yesterday which I was blessed to do, and don’t know how I got through it.
Our church pastor gave the most inspiring and emotional tribute to Jeff. I heard many comments and compliments about Pastor Per and his message to all of us.
I am utterly speechless, and will never be the same.
I know Jeff originally from our Church, Community of Hope in Rosemount, and I invited him to our fishing club meeting in the spring of 2007. He joined that night, and in
2 1/2 years was voted in as our Club President, and served a term of 4 years.
He and I have shared many many hours over the years on the water and being friends.
I knew he had some issues, some BIG issues, that he never wanted to talk about. He always avoided just about everyone and either didn’t want to; or couldn’t talk about them.
We were all blindsided.
I feel extremely Blessed to have known him for only the 10 short years that I did.
Last Monday he took his own life a half block from the Rosemount Police station, so that they would find him first. Left a 2 page note at home, and had a copy with him that told the Police who he was, and who and how to find his wife at her work that afternoon in Farmington.
That’s about all I can say right now.
I’ll never be the same.
I love you Jeff,
Jack
