    Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance were my favorite two movies of his. Him and Dom Deluise seemed to have a great on screen connection. He was just a fun loving guy. May he rest in peace.

    I’ve always thought it weird how he pretty much disappeared for the past what, 20-30 years? It’s weird how some actors stay in the limelight and others just fade away.

    What an Alpha stud he was back in the Deliverance and Longest Yard days. They don’t make many like him anymore. RIP Burt.

    Just read on ESPN that he received a football scholarship to Florida State, where he played running back until injuries ended it all. Did not know that.
