Pretty sure I know the answer already i ordered a hook reveal 7x meaning to order the 7. Is it possible to put maps on this it has gps but just shows white screen. I want to see the lake I’m on.

You do have the answer. You cannot use a map chip on an X model.
I’m glad I figured that out before ordering my unit. Having a GPS on the X model sure is confusing. I wonder if they regret having an X unit. While I think it is nice to at least be able to set waypoints and what not, I don’t see a lot of people knowingly buying it to save $50. And I bet they have had to deal with a lot of returns and exchanges.
Not that the models with C-Maps or Navionics is that much greater, but at least you get navigation mapping out if the box instead of a white screen. Plus you can create maps with Genesis live.
