If anybody thought this was a joke before this oughta hit home. The amount of revenue being loss is staggering. Also I think the gov said there are now 54 cases confirmed in Minnesota.

I work in dealerships across the dakotas and Minnesota. We were grounded from travel starting today. It’s going to be a very interesting month or so. I just wish I had some cash to invest in stocks next week.
March 16, 2020 at 6:24 pm #1923627At this point I’m of the opinion let’s shut everything down possible and hopefully get this over sooner than later. Can’t remember such a bizarre week in my whole life
March 16, 2020 at 6:36 pm #1923630Remember that huge sales tax surplus everybody in St. Paul wanted to get their hands on? In a few months it will be a deficit. No sales, no taxes collected.
Tip of the iceberg.
March 16, 2020 at 6:46 pm #1923632Don’t forget gyms, bowling alleys, movie theaters… all shut down.
March 16, 2020 at 7:05 pm #1923638EXPLITIVE!!!
The city of Eagan just notified us Contractors that they are shutting down tomorrow. I asked “what are we to do ?” — well, you can move forward with pics and videos but run the risk of items not passing. It’s beyond insane, I understand and we will deal with it.

I hope Mr. Walz realizes his attempt to save lives will also ruin many.
March 16, 2020 at 7:34 pm #1923657I have had the worst craving for Chinese buffet since this whole thing started…….

Cant resist, to be clear after a good buffet there is always a good purge.

That’s what the guy working the counter said. He also told him they expected to do about $8G’s in sales today. They already did $20G’s at about 7 with 3 hours to go. Run on beer and booze now.
March 16, 2020 at 8:09 pm #1923687I wonder if Walz would rather have stuck to his original plan (that was based on data) of not closing schools, but that the public backlash was just too great. This closure stuff looks like panic buying – they did it, so now we have to. I saw so many angry parents when he initially didn’t close schools.
It is also notable that all the little kids remain in daycare, and many of the before/after school programs are now basically “daycares” for school age kids.

#1 I have not heard anything that suggests this is true.
#2 The first time I saw any evidence of empty shelves in liquor stores (maybe 1/4 out through the whole store) was after the Sunday school closure announcement. They seemed fine today (Monday).

Can’t pin this one on Walz alone when the rest of the country and even the globe is also doing the same.

True. We can’t expect anyone to think for themselves… I guarantee not every state will follow like blind sheep.

Wash our hands and be cautious. Do you really feel like this will help? Do you think people won’t socialize with each other just because they closed bars and restaurants?
All this will do is put thousands on unemployment and crush many businesses to the ground.
I have no skin in the game so he can do whatever floats his boat but I feel for all those affected.
Tom SawvellInactivePosts: 9559March 16, 2020 at 8:37 pm #1923719It seems like everyone wants to close or shut something down. Why doesn’t Humpty Trumpty shut down the media storm on this and then lose his own twitter box phone. This media storm on this subject is getting ridiculous. NBC has their “health experts” saying one thing. Fox has experts saying something else and then there’s CNN and CBS and ABC…..all with experts that seldom jive with each other. Every elected official in Washington seems to have a quick trigger on the twitter button….shut them down too. Let the CDC take control here and shut the rest the heck up.

Oh dear lord I didn’t think about this. I went from concerned to idk WTF
March 16, 2020 at 8:42 pm #1923722I agree. This cannot be blamed on Walz.
Next question…does a “curfew” get implemented in any cities or portions of the state? I do think Trump may step in with some domestic travel advisories/bans to certain urban areas if case counts continue to escalate.
Coletrain27Posts: 4789March 16, 2020 at 8:58 pm #1923740We sure can blame it on Walz and all the libtards in this state who keep electing Dumbocrats
Oh great, here we go
