Now that the walleye season is over are the resorts on the major lakes, Red, Mille Lacs, LOTWs and others still plowing and letting people out?

Was thinking about trying to plan a trip out to one of them this weekend.

I know Lybacks said they were gonna keep up roads as long as there’s interest. Not sure I would make a trip for perch the way they have been lately. LOW you can still walleye fish so yes they will. Red if you want to chase crappies I know Bear Paw does something but I think its later and they take you out in groups with a portable chain.

I would assume LOW will still be going until at least the 15th, when their houses have to off. Walleye closes the 4/14/21 up there. Pike open all year.

    I know nothing on Red..

I know there are a few resorts (Appeldoorn’s, Hunters Point, Red Door) that are still maintaining roads until they can’t anymore. Which might not take long with these forecasted temps.. Pike fishing is open until the end of March. Perch & Tulli fishing still going good in the deeper waters.

Pretty sure Red Door was going to close their access yesterday or today. Best to call ahead with the warm weather this week. LOTW should be good to go.

Any advice on trying for Perch on Mille lacs this time of the year?….Not looking for you secret spots or anything….just in general..havent really fished this lake in since back in the 90’s when we could keep Walleye’s but thought it might be fun to try…The lake is so damn big …I really don’t even know where to start.

It will be a lot of searching if you are after Jumbo perch. Personally I would target tullies in deep water.

What would you use for bait/lure set up?…I’ve caught them by accident but never specifically fished for them

Just got back from lotw today. All the roads are still open. Will be interesting to see what happens with the warm weather though. There was already some slush and small water areas yesterday
