Do a reverse sear steak in that thing and you will not be disappointed. Recteqs are so versatile that you can really cook anything in them. I plan on picking up some charcoal pellets to try in mine this weekend.

It’ll be chicken thighs and breasts this evening to break it in. The lady won’t eat thighs so I have to throw a pack of breasts in the mix. But damn am I excited to eat

Haha so have but they have me intrigued so I want to try them. I’ve only bought Recteq pellets so I’m little leery on buying a different brand pellets.

    mosquitoes were horrible

Yeah they were attacking me when I was unhooking the boat last night at dusk. Here I thought with it being so dry we were supposed to have a light year of them.

Swatted one in the house this morning. Neighbor kids came by last evening asking if we had any yardwork they could do for some candy money. I was showing the 5yo what to do and he said mosquitoes were buzzing around his ear and I thought he was nuts.

I turned on the bug zapper last night when one dive bombed me at the grill. BTW, the comp blend pellets are all I use.

I couldn’t imagine them at your place, I don’t even have water near me. And I’m glad to hear that, I dumped 40 pounds of the comp in the grill yesterday

Wait you can get something from RecTeq and not have it totally destroyed by estes in shipping?

I haven’t been home to inspect, but they set it in the garage for me and the FW says it doesn’t appear to have any damage.

BC, how long is this gonna take to assemble? May need to get out of work a little early today… grin

Estes is known to damage just about everything. The box my bullseye came in was destroyed, but thankfully no damage to the unit itself and the pellets I bought every bag had a hole in it. Not even worth filing a complaint because it would just happen again.

Oh man your going to love that thing. I’m still just as happy today as the day it showed up. I cooked on it all weekend and the meals just get better and better.
I can’t remember exactly the time it took to set up, but I’d guess a hour. And I highly recommend just doing the 2 hour burn off right away so you can make some thighs or something fatty tomorrow.
Also I’m not very tech savvy so to say, but the recteq app is worth downloading and looking through the recipes. I haven’t followed one to the T but close enough where I got the idea from the app.
