I am pleased to report that my reputation as the world’s worst ice fisherman is intact, I was skunked on poygan today.

Hmmmm! I am not very thrilled to be reading this. My dad and I were supposed to be headed there on Friday to fish through the weekend. Only a 4 hour drive but it doesn’t sound worth it.

In all seriousness, if your going to that extent I can not overemphasize enlisting the services of a guild. No matter how much you spend on equipment, it won’t buy you knowledge. Get a guild, I believe Mr Rasmussen who is a pro staffer here has proven his ability to put fish on the ice.

don’t feel bad clown, it’s a really hard lake to fish. we’ve all had our butts handed to us on several occasions.

I would not be too hard on yourself, everyone gets skunked! I guarantee that even the guides and fishing pros have days like that.

If we hammered fish every day, the sport would not be as much fun. Keep on drilling holes and enjoy not being at work!

Thanks guys, even though we caught no fish my good friend and I had a great time being out on the ice using our equipment, solving the problems of the world, exploring racy encounters with members of the fairer sex in our pasts, and getting an occasional rush when a mark did investigate our bait. It was a full day that now today has me relaxed and content…looking forward to my next excursion on the ice.

Now you know what not to do next time. I seem to recall you had the same results last year at the GTG on Bago.

I also recall we all had the same results as you last year on Bago. Hence my reputation… I tell my wife I’m going fishing and ask if we should plan my fresh catch for a meal and she says she already has fish thawed in the refrigerator. frown

I think I’m worse than you but I still have a great time on the ice and every once in awhile I do catch something. (have alot of equipment) (I look good too)

Its better than sitting at home wasting your time watching television.

Bingo! Benelli Bob. I’ve already poured over the topo maps and have discovered spots that I am sure no one else has discovered. If someone else is on them this weekend its by their pure luck. sounding a little delusional aren’t I.
