Artistic Anglers out of Duluth. I have two mounts from them and know of several others as well. Amazing work!! They have a booth every year at the Northwest Sport Show and will probably be there again this year. You’ll be able to see dozens of species with various mounting styles.

Fibertech. Great company. A few buddies and I have mounts from them. Very quick turnaround. 3-5 weeks. Paint jobs are. unreal. Send’s the fish very well packaged up. Will do business again hopefully soon, that is when and if I land another trophy! Good luck with your mount. Post a pic when you receive youf trophy back please.
Sorry I cannot help answer your question, but what measurements/pictures should be taken for an accurate wall mount? Do I need to get technical or is it as simple as taking a quick picture and a measurement from mouth to tail? S
Should mention I’d only be interested in a walleye mount, if that matters.
You should carry a cloth tape measure (it’s called a seamstress tape) in your boat. They are used to make things from cloth so you can get them anywhere sewing stuff is sold. Get a length & girth measurement. Also I would take more then one photo.
Thank you sir, appreciate it. I think i can handle that.. now i just gotta find that 30 incher somewhere.
And DANG, they aint cheap.
Top Notch Taxidermy from Brookings SD. Easily the best work I have ever seen.

We took videos of measuring a 140 pound alligator gar and a 74 pound blue cat. In looking at the videos and photo’s, a person would never know they were replicas down to the last little red streak in the tail. In fact he like mounting a photo of the real fish being held by the person that caught it on the mount if you wish.
Here’s some photos of John’s work.
BTW he doesn’t do poisonous snakes any longer. You’ll have to ask him why. LOL!
I used to send quite a few of my clients to Artistic Angler but the turnaround was approaching 2.5 years… Even though they would estimate a year. They also had very poor/rude communication. The mounts looked great though. I think this is a common case of just too busy.
I am unsure if Scott does replicas, but his real ones are outstanding. He also does incredible work on waterfowl, I have a Woodie Drake there now. His wood carvings are also beautiful works of art.

Not sure I can handle the humiliation again; 28″ walleye, on a side note it has sentimental value, mostly mental but I am not going any further.

if your going to get something mounted, be it the real thing or a replica spend the money. nothing worse then when you get a mount back and looks like crap!!!!!!!
I doesn’t seem to me the size or the reason. If a person wants a 5″ fish mounted it shouldn’t make any difference… except in the pocket book.
And as Glenn said, this is not the place to be thrifty.

Had so much fun looking at these I had to include a few more:
Cripes…I was looking at having a 27″ walleye replica made up for the one I caught on Mille Lacs this year. Its my PB and caught it on a fun weekend with my buddies. Can’t think of a better memory to capture. I’m assuming less pictures you have the less “authentic” to your fish the mount will be? After all I couldn’t keep it so I don’t have the fish. And some Jack Daniels may have affected the picture taking some…
I had al bartz scenic taxidermy do my 12lb 6oz walleye it is a great replica he is just east of st Charles mn
Thanks for the help! Just a little nudging needed, after dealing with my last attempt I have been jaded.
Hey guys, i am also interested in having a walleye replica made from the 30.5″ walleye i caught and released on mille lacs this winter. I am having a very hard time deciding where to bring it. I am very particular with details and im sure most of these guys will do great work but i have a couple questions/comments. I had narrowed down to 3 places, Tom’s Taxidermy in clarks grove mn who i have had work done prior, artistic anglers from many recommendations and like their work in photos i have seen and fibertech from many replies on here. Questions:
1. i see prices ranging from 16-21$ per inch, is there that much different in quality of work going from those extreme differences? (this price range covers those three places i listed)
2. my biggest concern/like about fibertech is the turnaround. Really like the quick turn but it really makes me nervous on detail. Is this turn time mostly because of work load at the different places? i guess i just dont want to get a cookie cutter replica that looks the same as all the rest and want the detail of my fish.
3. i really dont want to be told 10-12 months and have to wait 2.5 years for it either like a couple comments i have read on here, Is this common?
Had my Kokanee replica done in about 3 weeks. For me, is was all about the paint job. A monkey can pour resin in a mold. Look and pay for the paint.

Here is mine from last year, it was an 8 week turnaround
Thanks for the comments guys, also really appreciate the photos. both look very nice!
