I am putting new seats and carpet in a old 16′ Lund. Once I got the boards of I noticed that over the years mice have taken a toll on the foam. Can I go to Menards and buy a close cell foam insulation kit that would be used for a insulating a house, or does it have to be a specific expanding foam?

You want two pound density Polyurethane Foam. That is a closed cell High density. Many of the spray cans are a closed cell medium density and long term exposure to water may experience failures. I THINK Great Stuff has a product for landscaping ponds that is made for long term exposure to water. I never used it, but know its available. The couple of boats that I have re-done was larger scale and we just ordered a box of the marine grade slow rise/high density
