Replacement pull cord on Ultrex

Hello, I’ve gone through 3 pull cords-or whatever they are called— to bring the TM back into the boat. I’ve had the original factory one fail. Bought the Red One with a pretty aluminum handle it broke. Another one from Tackle Warehouse broke as well. I usually get about a year and a half out of them. Is this the norm? They never break at the handle. It’s a crummy feeling when it fails and you are falling backwards wondering what you are going to land on. Maybe I should get smart and just replace it every year before it breaks. Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated. I do have a 360 and live scope plus mounted on it. Adds weight I’m sure.

Can you upsize the diameter or install vinyl coated steel cable?

I’ve gone through 3 vinyl coated cable. Got it replaced today. My boat thinks there may be a barb on the release. He might swap it out some day thanks.
