Would like to replace the plastic tubes on the two vertical guideons on my trailer that came with my Lund 1875 Impact. Does anyone know a source for them?
Harold,
Try Davenport Boat in Davenport, IA (563) 326-2431. ask for Bob or Cindy. I bought one from them in June.
I’m curious, are you having problems with the guideons scrapping the side of your boat above the splash rail? I’ve had that problem with my 1775 Impact and Lund/Shoreland’r trailor.
Steve H.
You can run PVC or ABS pipes, get the correct ID and you can slip them right over, and make them as tall as you’d like. I’ve considered making mine taller just haven’t bothered to go do it yet.
An honest question….
What are these even for?
My 1775 Impact loads itself. I pull it in with a rope through the front eye hook and it lines up almost evenly everytime.
Is it for backing?
My roller trailer/1775 Impact are easy-on, easy-off in most conditions, solo half the time. The guides do help when wind and/or high, fast water add a little challenge to it. They help keep the boat in the correct zone to drive it up or pull it up. Mine guides are scarred up too.
Thanks for the info Steve. My tubes are banged up but haven’t scraped above the spray rail on the boat. Not sure how that could happen with my bunk trailer and the angle of the guides. I suppose on a roller trailer the boat could lean to the side if not centered and contact the guide. The tubes can’t be very tough based on how mine are beat up.
