Feel like I’m riding a bull when my auger gets caught redrilling my holes out in my shack. Just hang on or is there a better way?

Never had an issue using Kdrill and milwaukee drill til saturday when almost though it caught and side handle broke off drill. Drill spun lucky didnt break my hand but did hit my knee hard enough to take me down. Felt like getting hit with a hammer. Gonna order a better style handle before that happens again.

My Ion is the first drill I ever had that would handle re-drill smoothly.

Sorry figured you were talking electric drill.
Seems like no one talks or runs gas anymore.

    Chipper blades or straight blades?

I run a lite flite and it re opens holes great. My old strikemasted with chipper blades did great as well. But my jiffy didn’t

I used an 8″ Nils on a Tanaka powerhead for close to 10 years to re-open holes in my wheelhouse. You don’t know what a wild ride is until you try that one. I use a K-drill now and it’s smooth as butter. I actually look for old holes while fishing to cut holes faster hoping the ice is thinner…haven’t hit a landmine yet.

I open old holes all the time for the same reason. Never thought of the landmine possibility. shock I’ll maybe rethink that idea. doah
