Is there a product or a procedure that will remove pine sap from the hood of my car without harming the paint?

we use a product called “take off” here, it’s basically mineral spirits…. dab and rub and rinse. may etch a quarter of a mil of clear coat, but not noticeable.

WD-40 works great. Also great for those fricken cottonwood seeds. What also works great is making the tree into wood mulch. No more cottonwood seeds.

What kind of weered pine you got up there that’s flowing sap. Ive heard about this climate change thing but this has me shaking at my knees

I use isopropyl to remove pine tar often in the summer.

Will the isopropyl harm the finish?

We have used a hair dryer to heat the sap up and then put some hand sanitizer on it. Then wipe it off with a rag. It works really well.

One thing is for sure. If you don’t get it off, it will harm your finish:)

I saw something on TV last week where they were using butter to remove pine sap from their hands.

Thanks for the tips. I am going to let it warm up a bit before I try a few of these tips. I will post back with the results.

I used rubbing alcohol and it worked great. Right after I was done I went to the car wash and there were no issues with the finish.
