My poor boat hasnt been out of the garage in like 3 years. My question is if I disconnect the hose from the motor and turn the key on will the fuel pump pump it out or will it just run a second or two like it does to prime?

What you need for a one time deal like this is a hand fuel transfer pump from the likes of Harbor Freight, etc.

You might be able to hook the pump up directly to your fuel line if the hose is the right size and you don’t mind cutting off the fitting and clamping it back on later. This is the handiest way to do it if you can make it work because you’re using the dip tube that is already at the bottom of the tank so the pump-out is more complete that way.

Hand pumps are not as difficult or as slow as you might think. I’ve pumped out about 15 gallons in 10 minutes. Once you get it flowing, it pumps pretty quickly and for a one time deal….

If the pump runs enough to get fuel up will it siphon itself
