Anything can be done. Score the glass all the way around the transducer, pry, and tap with a hammer. Worse thing you do is make a small hole that needs to be glassed over. Not a big deal. Just seems worse when its your own rig and the first time your doing it.
Kind of like a drywall repair. When a homeowner sees me cut a 12″ damaged area open into a 3′ area. Their jaw is on the floor. D/wall guy gets done with the touch up and you can’t even tell it happened.
