I have been reading a lot about it lately and about have myself talked into one. I have wanted a second 3″ gun for years as a backup when I travel far to hunt pheasants. Only problem is they are still not shipping. I hate it when a company delays product release. Makes me nervous. It went from July to October. So much for a V3 this year.

Looks interesting. The few quick reviews I saw look favorable. What do you shoot now? It looks like a refined VersaMax?

How about a Stoeger 3000? Going to be very similar to what you’re getting in the Remington. I have a 2000 that fills a very similar purpose you’re trying to fill, it’s my back up gun and since I usually carry a 20 gauge, it’s also a good windy day/bad weather option. I don’t care really if it gets wet or beat up, it just has to go bang which it always does.

Or for a little bit more, upgrade to a Beretta A300. IMO they aren’t much to look at, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that soft shooting Beretta action.

I have two old Remington shotguns I have owned since new and have always wanted another if they ever evolved, which they did. Excellent price point too.
I could change my mind tomorrow!! )

I’ll be interested to see what the street price of the V3 is once they actually get this shotgun on the dealer racks in numbers.

I believe back during the show season, the MSRP that Remington was throwing out was stated as $895-995. Applying the usual discount on the MSRP, that should be bringing the street price in somewhere around $775-$875 if the usual logic holds true.

Is anyone throwing out any prices Suzuki?

No. Cant find them online and neither Gander or Cabelas are taking orders that I am aware of. I too heard mid-$700’s. That is very attractive considering all the good press I have read.

I wonder what happened to these? Remington was showing them off during the “show season” last winter/spring. I guess I never paid attention if they had a “coming in [insert month here]” announcement that said fall or winter of 2015. I guess I would have expected them to have the stories fully stocked by now, but maybe that was just me not paying attention.

The only thing I would consider a downside to the V3 at the mid-$700 price range is there are some very established and very good shotguns in that range that you can have today for the same money.

Like the Franchi Affinity for $699. Wow! http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/37_1031/products_id/411548776/Franchi+Affinity+Semi-Auto+12ga+28%22+Black+Synthetic

Or the Beretta A300 for $748. I bought my 391 15 years ago and I ran out of the store like I stole it because I got it on year end clear-out for $799 with an extra discount coupon that I applied. That was an incredible deal back then, normal retail on the Gold model I got was 1100, but even the base 391 was $995 Never thought I’d see a sub-$750 Beretta shotgun.

If you get one, would be interested in hearing your review. Nice to see Remmy is back with a new shotgun offering, hopefully they’re getting them in the stores soon.

Damn you! That Franchi looks nice. What have you heard about them? I really wanted an American gun this time but I’m not throwing common sense out the door.

Grouse, you have me looking at the Affinity but nobody has a 26″ 12 ga.
Even Cabelas shows them in their catalog on sale but I was there and they dont have them anywhere.

Honestly I have wanted one for years as a backup for our group pheasant hunts. We travel so far and everyone takes one gun. I had been taking my old 870 for backup but that is only 2 3/4 and we shoot 3″ steel more and more. Now we are set.
Thanks Grouse. It did make so much more sense to get this gun that operates the same as my primary. You snooze you lose remington…..

So which Franchi did you get and where did you get it?

I think Franchi is making terrific shotguns and they are much better known in the European market, but they are rightly getting more noticed over here.

That store has come through for me on so many big purchases over the years I cant believe I didn’t think of them for a firearm.

Nice. Give us a test report on this when you have a chance to shoot it. Should be a great fit for your needs.

Like rifles, I think we’re now in another golden age of shotguns as far as the intersection of function and price. The number of really good autoloaders and pumps on the market now AND the relatively low price of some of these offings, is astonishing.

Even going above the entry-level and into the mid-range autos and O/U shotguns in the $1800-3000 range, what you are getting for the money these days is amazing in terms of function, finish, and quality.

Glad that reeds worked for you Suzuki. I have dropped some serious $ with them in the past also.

I also have a Benelli and stoger 2000 in 12 gauge so I wanted a 20 that operates similarly when i got my affinity. Both my 2000 and affinity are 26″ black synthetic and no problems so far. Let me know if you ever have an itch to try it in a 20. Mine has maybe a case of shells thru it so far. Stoger has thousands of shells thru it as a back up or loner gun.

Congrats! I’m interested to hear how it shoots compared to your M2.

I shoot a 20g SuperSport for pheasants and sporting clays but I keep debating getting a 12g. Curious how it performs.

Reeds continues to impress after all these years. The gun is IN MY HANDS exactly 24 hours after ordering even after going through FFL. Free Shipping too!
I’ll get to shoot it this weekend now.
