Still have ashes from my dad who died almost 20 years ago. Might be time to spread some with his grand kids he never met.

Dinosaur passed away in 2009. We were going to spread some ashes on Milly but never did. Pool 2 is the next best thing. He spent a lot of time there. Still have some for Milly though.

Oh DT this hit me right in the feels. I didn’t expect that, and now am reaching for the kleenex. What a beautiful moment and thank you for sharing it with us. Pool 2 is honored by his presence. Hugs.

Yeah, I still have my dads ashes from 12 years ago and have long since wondered what best to do with them.

I certainly had thought about sprinkling in a lake.

The one most appropriate would be Fall Lake just outside Ely. That place was special for him.

I’ve wondered if/how I could get back there to lay him to rest.

    Very inspirational post deertracker.

Not what I expected when I clicked on this link. Very neat of you to share and it looked like a special moment to remember with your family DT.

My Dad died unexpectedly at the age of 62 just over a year ago. Last fall I spread his ashes at one of our favorite duck hunting spots and I could barely talk I was so choked up. So I know the feeling.

Man ….. that’s pretty cool. I am sure “Dinosaur”
    APPROVES.

I pray every night, and he has one on his side this day….

Thanks for sharing, and be well.

Fall lake is easy to access, regular boat launches, newton, and basswood and multiple others are the ones you need to Portage into.

Very fitting tribute, Dino would be pleased. Miss your dad and my good friend. Think of him often.

I believe his spirit visits here at the lake place often and keeps a eye on things when we are not here. His imprint on me and his old recliner remain unchanged.

While I did not get to know your father very well. The couple of times we meet and talked will be something I never forget.

It was back in the 1970’s we’d stay at a resort on Fall Lake.

Although I’ve been to the Ely area since that time, I never thought much about accessing Fall Lake again.

    Thanks for the info.
