I’ve never had such an urge to go lick a trucks tailpipe

Sure you don’t mean the tailgate?…

Funniest part of the OP picture is the fact he was towing without his tow mirrors.

With the lund, I only used the straps when I was going a distance, say from Red Wing to home.

With the Skeeter and the retractable straps, I use them all the time.
    Well worth the cost. Underrated!

Yeah buddy. And we didnt have to shed 2 cylinders to pretend we get decent mileage. Or build our trucks out of aluminum foil

Is there a consensus (stupid question, of course not) on whether transom straps are necessary on a 14-footer. Like maybe 600 lbs max total weight. I have two horizontal straps going over the gunwhales — one between the front & middle bench, and one just forward of the transom near the rear bench. It’s an older narrow bunk trailer with one row of rollers down the center. In other words, the boat doesn’t move easily on the bunks even when wet. With the two horizontal straps it seems very solid?

You bet! My 2017 got 23 mpg on my last road trip to Rainy Lake, and gets better MPG than my wife’s Buick Enclave both city and highway. Alright alright alright!

That should be fine. On my 14 ft boat I throw a heavy duty ratchet strap over from side to side at about the back seat. Holds it just fine

Those retracting straps are awesome. Well worth the investment.

Installed them on mine. Well worth the money.

I used to wonder what Dodge was thinking having the exhaust pipes going straight out the back on their trucks that also have rear cab windows to suck in the exhaust fumes. Then I thought “For Dodge, brain damage probably equals repeat sales….” devil

    Dang

Does that matter at all? It’s 6′ on the box and 2′ down. if they were out the side they would be an additional 10″ further away. I don’t think draft sucks it in the back window at all. I’ve done this 100 times and it’s not an issue.

I got 22.6 to Canada a couple of weeks. That’s with only 3000 miles on mine. Beat my buddies fords from prior years.

I’m getting a barbwire tattoo with all the money I’m saving.

The design did look like something every man of similar taste would want on their body. Was real nice of them to help me out after my mom kicked me out of her basement. I even made them some avocado toast toast
