We are pleased to announce the release of Software Version 1.350 for our G1 HELIX series. Models affected by this release include the following Gen 1 products:

    • HELIX 9 Gen 1 models (SI/GPS, DI/GPS, GPS)
    • HELIX 10 Gen 1 models (SI/GPS, DI/GPS, GPS)
    • HELIX 12 Gen 1 models (SI/GPS, DI/GPS, GPS)

    NEW FEATURES
This release contains both new features and enhancements to existing features. For full details on installing this update be sure to read the installation instructions from your MyHumminbird page.
There are many updates and improvements made possible through this software release, but two stand out.

    HELIX 9, 10, 12 G1
Network your G1 HELIX 9, 10 or 12 with any new HELIX G2N model
Last month, Humminbird released its new HELIX G2N line, including the HELIX 7, 9, 10 and 12 G2N models. Every G2N model will network with a networkable HELIX G1 model – such as those mentioned above – provided they install this update. Doing so will allow you to add additional Humminbird products to your boat, while still using your existing HELIX G1 models.

Looking to add a new HELIX G2N unit to your bow and link it to your existing HELIX 9 G1 by your console? Now you can, thanks to this update.

Please note – One of the new features of the G2N model line is Humminbird MEGA Imaging. Many people have asked if they can upgrade the software of their G1 unit in order to view MEGA Imaging on their unit. This is not possible as MEGA is a technology, not a software program. Only G2N models can view MEGA Imaging; but G2N models can transmit 455 – 800 kHz to networking G1 models.

    New AutoChart Live Features

Vegetation and Bottom Hardness Layers in AutoChart Live Now Available on Your G1 HELIX Model
We’ve taken one of the new features of the G2N line and made it available to all networkable G1 HELIX owners. Simply download software release 1.350 and AutoChart Live will now map depth contours, vegetation density and bottom hardness.

By having the depth, hardness and vegetation available at your fingertips, you hold the trifecta of information as fish relate to structure, depth and transition points in bottom type.

Finally, if you have a compatible Minn Kota trolling motor with i-Pilot Link, the “Follow” function will now let you follow your newly-created depth contours, weed edges, and bottom hardness changes hands-free. All you have to do is select which line to “Follow” and you’ll be on your way.

There are many more features to this update in addition to the two above. To learn about them, please visit the Software Update 1.350 FAQ webpage.

    Thanks again for supporting Humminbird.

I installed it in my 10 last night but one thing that I was hoping would be fixed was unclear if it was or not.

Has the issue where the autochart live maps aren’t showing up, resulting in you having to power on the unit without the zero lines card installed, been fixed?

There were a number of fixes in this update related to zeroline map cards, lakemaster map cards, using more than one card, and power issues.

    @lambeau
Mike, I’m not able to read the attachment, and I’m not registered for this update. Could you blow up the area on your .jpg that answers his question please?

How did that update go for you guys?

I have my helix 12 linked to my 1199 and I can no longer get si on my 1199.

I’ll need to back up the update unless someone has a solution.

In network settings all my boxes are checked correctly, except the check mark is light gray and not black.

    Any ideas?

Kind of frustrated me over the weekend because I run from screen si on my 1199 and sonar/chart on my helix… So I just had to change it up a bit and run map on 1199 and sonar/si on my helix… Still not preferred.

    Thanks

you may have tried these, but just to be sure:

    – when powering up, turn on the one controlling the SI transducer first
    – after it’s running, turn on the other unit
    – wait a few minutes for them to connect over the network

    – check that the 1199 is in advanced user mode (defaults might have reset it)
    – menu / setup / user mode

    – set-up transducer selection for each unit (not the network connection)
    – menu / sonar / connected transducer
    – scroll through the options, select the one that’s connected to the unit

    – set up network sources for each unit
    – menu / network source setup
    – 2d / Advanced / GPS / Temp for the source you want each unit to display

Thanks Michael. I’m pretty sure all settings you mentioned as set per normal… However when working on the boat this weekend I noticed my si duecer was not completely snapped into the 1199… Lol boy do I feel dumb for not checking the most basic first… Anyway, haven’t been on the water for a week but might tonight, and future soon… So hopefully that connection was my problem. Dumb.

If not, I’ll run through your list and confirm…

    Thanks!
