I’d like to redo a 9.9 cowling and put new stickers on. I’m having trouble figuring out if I need Yamaha 4d or 8d paint for the cowling. Have you done this ? The black piece must be a replacement and will be painted also. Thanks

I bought paint to do that but still haven’t done it and need to buy some clearcoat that won’t look crappy after year one.

I bought some of the Yamaha spray paint from Hannay’s Marine to touch up my motor. The guys at the parts counter looked up the correct paint number for the year. Apparently the two colors are very close but one has a little more of a blue tint.

Thanks, I think I found my answer.

Decided to go the cheap route for now, doesn’t match perfect but looks a lot better then the black. It’s really close in the sun. Just a rattle can from an auto parts store. Just rebuilt the water pump and cleaned her all up.
