Reels For My New TUCR'S

I’m pretty sure this has been a topic before but I will ask again. I just received a new Bullwhip, Precision, and Precision Power all in 32″ lengths. I’ve read quite a bit about Shimano 500’s being a good choice for reel size. I’ve made up my mind to go that route for the BW, but would like some help for the precision and precision power where walleyes will be my main target. I’m a little concerned about line capacity. I fish walleyes in up to 40′ of water with both mono and a super line. It looks like the 500’s would balance better but would I be better off with a 1000? Thanks for your input.

The shimano 500’s will have more than enough spool capacity for mono or super lines, here in Devils Lake we fish an awful lot in 40′ or better, spool capacity never an issue.Tough to beat sedonas for price/performance, the Mitchell Avocet RZT would be another good choice,40$ very nice drag.

Bill is spot on! The 500’s are plenty. I have a 1000 series shimano Stradic that I’m going to pair with a TUCR’s commander 38″ rod. The 32’s you’re describing are perfect with any of the shimano 500 series reels. Good luck shopping!
